Three Excellent Cancer Prevention Tips

By Vera Viner
While the month of October is wrapping up, breast cancer awareness should be something you keep with you year-round instead of one month out of the year. Today I would like to leave you with some important knowledge on cancer prevention.
We all know that fruits and vegetables – eating healthy in general – can keep certain maladies away. But which veggies have the greatest cancer-fighting punch? You’ll be glad to know that there’s one particular vegetable that is found in any local grocery store and is very affordable.
Carrots help prevent cancer
Carrots and other orange vegetables filled with carotenoids are rich in nutrients, like vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, and fiber. Carrots contain beta-carotene, an antioxidant used to make vitamin A. This substance helps prevent damage to healthy cells within your body. Vitamin A also helps keep your eyes healthy. Some other minerals that carrots contain are manganese, phosphorus, calcium, and iron.
According to the Livestrong publication, drinking carrot juice is a great way to prevent and fight cancer. Drinking carrot juice will support your immune system, as the juice will bring even more vitamins and antioxidants straight into your bloodstream. If you are thinking of making a vegetable juice, you may want to add some green peppers, spinach, onions, garlic, apples, and celery to the mix — this produce is all known to prevent cancer. Now that we have a handle on carrots, what type of fruit should we definitely include in our diet?
Berries fight cancer
Colorful berries such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries have plenty of antioxidants and are advised for protecting your body against the damaging properties of free radicals, according to the Pro Health online magazine.
The colorful pigments found in berries offer plenty of health benefits such as prevention of cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and stroke. Berries have flavonoids, which offer this protection from sickness by fighting the harmful free radicals. We now know that fruits and vegetables can add an extra boost to our immune system, but did you know there is a theory that states exercise can also strengthen our immunity?
Physical fitness prevents breast cancer
Healthcare specialists often advise their patients to partake in some moderate exercise as part of a healthier lifestyle. It is a good idea to have at least half an hour of physical activity every day such as walking, swimming, or biking in order to strengthen your body and prevent cancer.
There are simpler ways to increase the amount of exercise you get each day. For example, try taking the stairs and walk more during breaks at work. Just make sure to move! Exercise is great at preventing cancer as well as obesity, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular problems.
Once November comes, don’t forget these great breast cancer prevention tips! Make sure to eat plenty of berries, carrots, and other vegetables along with exercising regularly!
