Dr. Ruddy Holds Meeting at CGI Convention to Discuss Breast Cancer Virus and Vaccine

By Vera Viner
In a previous blog post, I discussed how Dr. Kathleen Ruddy, Founder of the Breast Health and Healing Foundation and renowned breast cancer surgeon, is passing on our mission of cancer prevention at the annual Clinton Global Initiative meeting of the world’s leaders. Dr. Ruddy has recently held a discussion in front of an audience about the human mammary tumor virus and Cleveland Clinic’s preventive breast cancer vaccine.
At this meeting, Dr. Ruddy had the discoverer of the preventive vaccine, Dr. Vincent Tuohy, present as her guest. She discussed the issues surrounding the virus and vaccine. In particular, the scientists we’re supporting need to get more funding to continue research regarding whether a large percentage – 40%! – of women contract breast cancer due to the human mammary tumor virus.

Additionally, the discussion revolves around the latest news of the vaccine – that we await FDA approval to begin clinical trials! It truly brings us great hope to know that we finally have enough funding to start Phase I clinical trials.
An additional guest that was present at the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting is Gloria Gaynor, sensational singer of the iconic “I will Survive.” Gaynor is also the International Goodwill Ambassador of the Breast Health and Healing Foundation.

Thank you for your support as we work toward the next steps in essentially putting an end to breast cancer and preventing this disease!
