The older a woman gets, the more her risk of breast cancer increases. This is why it is so imperative to stick to a healthy lifestyle and follow cancer prevention strategies. If you are in your 50s, please follow the advice below to improve your health and reduce cancer risk.
Remain at a Healthy Weight

When it comes to breast health, reaching and maintaining a healthy weight is vital. When trying to lose weight, follow healthy cardio and strength training exercises as well as eat a plant-based diet with whole grains. If you are overweight, try to get to the gym daily and move for one hour a day. Talk to a doctor or nutritionist if you need advice on maintaining a healthy weight.
Limit Alcohol Intake
If you enjoy a glass of red wine, remember to limit it to less than five drinks per week. A high intake of alcohol is associated with a rise in breast cancer risk. Regardless of how it may make you feel, excessive alcohol intake could lead to serious medical conditions.
Find Time to Exercise

Make sure to take part in different physical activities so that a majority of your muscles are active and you don’t cause any pain by overusing your arms or legs. Try playing volleyball, tennis, basketball, or going for a swim. Also, you could try taking a dance class, which will have you moving your back, legs, arms, and sides! You can also do a simple activity like taking a close friend for a walk.
Find Ways to Manage Your Stress
At this age, the stresses of life can be difficult to handle. You may have children in college who you worry after. The hours you put in at work may bring you undue stress. There are a variety of problems you may need to handle, such as a dying parent or possibly a divorce. It is imperative to find ways to manage your stress. You may want to take up Yoga or try meditating.
